In the summer of 2008 I was contacted by Emilio Schiavetti WWW.Sarvirtual.it manager, a website that deals with flight simulator and perform SAR missions through the use of planes and helicopters, and especially with my dedicated aircraft the SAR and fire-fighting Canadair cl215 and cl415. The aim was to create the model of the Beriev Be-200 which had been tested and evaluated by italian Protezione Civile as a future replacement for Canadair. I began right after the construction of the model and by the end of 2008 it had taken shape and Emilio had created a 2D panel for testing model. Unfortunately our dear Emilio, ill for some time has left us at the beginning of 2009, for me it was a big blow as for all those who knew him and appreciated for its spirit and its addictive nature. I had a time slip and I left out the model waiting to be able to return and also because of the problems in creating the 2D panel and 3D virtual cockpit because the lack of good information except for the photographs found in the web. At the end of 2009 I took again the model that I am now able to complete it and dedicate to the memory of Emilio to mark the first anniversary of his disappearance.

The Beriev Be-200 Altair is a multi-role amphibious aircraft designed by the Beriev Aircraft Company and assembled by Irkut. Marketed for a variety of uses, such as fighting fires, SAR, maritime patrol and transport of people and things, it has a capacity of 12 m3 of water or up to 72 passengers.

This model was created with the program fsds 3.51 and compiled for FS9 with makemdl.

As soon as I have time I'll release a paintkit for those who want to repaint the model.

The flight characteristics and performance were made taking into account the official aircraft data.

2D panel and the 3D is a fairly realistic interpretation of the effective layout even if the design does not always correspond to that of the instruments installed on real aircraft panel.
The gauges were made by Dennis Seeley and myself and are in XML format.

Effects
************************************************************************************
Who want to exchange the installed water effect with the retardant effect (red) , just make copy and paste of the following lines of text in the corresponding section of aircraft.cfg.

.........................................................................................

[smokesystem]
// Red water retardardant
smoke.0 = -25.91, -8, 0, fx_water_dump_R.fx
smoke.1 = -25.91, -5, 3.92, fx_water_dump_R.fx
smoke.2 = -25.91, -5, -3.92, fx_water_dump_R.fx

.........................................................................................
Note: aircraft.cfg file can be edited with a simple text editor , windows notepad is the right program to use.

That's all and have a good time!

Double check everything before e-mailing me! the most of problems I am asked to solve are due to not having read readme files!!

Credits
***********************************************************************************
I wish to thank Philippe Wallaert for allowing me to use some of his gauges in my model.
Other credits go to the other authors known and not of which I used some of the gauges in the instrument panel and especially to Ken Mitchell, the author of the gauges for the Airbus 330 from which I took some of the PFD and MFD display.
